Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, here are the five most expensive players in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction set new records, with the highest-ever bid in its history. As the IPL continues to gain popularity year after year, players are becoming wealthier. Ahead of IPL 2025, let’s take a look at the five most expensive players from the 2025 auction.

5 most expensive players in IPL 2025

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is now set to join the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for a hefty sum of Rs 27 crore, making him the most expensive player in IPL history. With this significant move, Pant is also expected to take on leadership responsibilities at the franchise.

Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh Iyer reaped the rewards of KKR’s recent reliance on loyalty by securing Rs 23.75 crore at this massive auction. Iyer’s steady playoff performance over the years seems to have produced surprising results this time around, and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) went all the way to the wire to sign him.

Arshdeep Singh

In their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup-winning squad this year, the left-arm pacer was India’s second-best bowler, after Jasprit Bumrah. However, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) decided not to keep him. Notwithstanding this, PBKS decided to use their Right to Match (RTM) card in order to recoup Rs 18 crore from Arshdeep. It’s interesting to note that they could have kept him as their first choice before to the auction at the same cost.

Yuzvendra Chahal

The former Rajasthan Royals (RR) leg-spinner secured a substantial payday, largely due to the significant spending power of PBKS. Chahal, the all-time leading wicket-taker in IPL history, could excel in the larger square boundaries at PBKS’s home ground, offering more opportunities for him to take wickets.
