Team India had decided to rest Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant from the Day and Night practice match.
India cricket team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, leaves Canberra satisfied. Although he personally didn’t have a good outing in the India vs Prime Minister’s (PM) XI match, Team India collectively did well. Rohit gave the ball to seven bowlers, six of whom ended up taking at least one wicket. While chasing, only two of India’s nine batters got out under 10 runs. In fact, two of the batters didn’t even get dismissed but retired to give others a go.
Rohit Sharma ready for India vs Australia 1st Test
After claiming a convincing 6-wicket victory at the Manuka Oval, Rohit talked about accomplishing the goals they had set themselves for the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide. This was despite missing the whole of the first day’s play due to rain. “It was fantastic (the match and the win). We got what we wanted as a group. It was a bit unfortunate that we couldn’t play the entire game, but we made the most of the time we had,” the Indian captain said in the post-match interview.
“Absolutely fantastic (to see the crowd). We love coming to Australia, and it’s always great to see fans turn up to support us. There’s never been a time when they haven’t shown up. It’s really nice to see people coming out and cheering for us,” said Rohit Sharma about the crowd support Team India had in Canberra.

As far as the match goes, the biggest positive for India was Shubman Gill. The white-ball vice-captain was out of action due to a finger injury but seems to have recovered in time for the Day and Night Test match. He was the top-scorer for India and looked on for a big score but was called back by Rohit Sharma to ensure others get some batting practice as well.
