For now, things are looking under New Zealand’s control. So, what will happen if India loses this game? Will it affect their WTC final chances, or will there be no change here?
What happens if India loses to New Zealand?
Since India remains at the top of the WTC table, holding a percentage of points of 74.24, having won eight out of 11 matches in the current cycle. So, if India loses this first game, or if rain forces the game to a draw, as rain is expected on the last day of the first Test, it will not hamper India’s chances to qualify for the WTC finals. If they lose, they must win their last two games before heading to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, where the team will play five Test matches.
