Fazel Atrachali is confident that Bengal Warriorz can win the PKL 11 title, highlighting their balanced team with strong defence and raiders ahead of their opening clash against Jaipur Pink Panthers.

The Bengal Warriorz are gearing up for an exciting start to their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11 campaign with their first clash against one of the great teams in PKL history, the Jaipur Pink Panthers, on Sunday at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. The match will begin at 8 PM.

Fazel Atrachali confident of success

Ahead of the season opener, Bengal Warriorz’ new captain, Fazel Atrachali, expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to win the PKL trophy this season. The Iranian Kabaddi legend is optimistic about his side’s chances. “I think this season will be very good for us because we have a balanced team, and everything is good in the Bengal Warriorz setup. Our defence is good, our raiders are good. So, I think it will be a very good season for us and we have a chance to be champions,” said Fazel.

Atrachali eyes another PKL title

Fazel, a two-time PKL champion, has set his sights on another title, this time with Bengal Warriorz. He is determined to lead his new team to victory and improve on his own performance. “I just want to be a champion with Bengal Warriorz. Firstly, I want my team to win, and secondly, I want to play well and better than I did in the previous seasons. For the team, I want my team to be champion. That will be great for us this season,” he added.

Seamless Integration with the Bengal Warriorz

Having been signed by the Bengal Warriorz in the PKL 11 auction earlier, he was part of Puneri Palta, who lifted the PKL trophy for the first time in season 10. Now, Fazel has blended in effortlessly with his new franchise. His rapport with teammates, particularly with star raider Maninder Singh, has been promising in the lead-up to the season. “I am very excited. In the last four or five years whenever I saw Maninder, I always told him – One day, we should play together,” Fazel shared.

Experienced players leading the way

Fazel expressed his happiness with the presence of experienced players like Maninder Singh and Nitesh in the team. “We always need some experience in the team because when there is only one senior player, all the pressure is on that player. But with someone like Maninder, when he is in the team, the feeling is very good because he is a dynamic player and a natural leader,” Fazel concluded.
