In 2017, Dhoni had struck a deal with his business partners. But four years later, he felt he was being cheated and revoked it.
The Jharkhand High Court has served MS Dhoni with a notice. His former business partners, Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das, have filed a counter case against the former Indian captain for accusing them of fraud. Diwakar and Das, as directors of their organisation, Aarka Sports and Management Private Limited, had struck a deal with Dhoni to establish cricket academies in his name, in India and abroad.
MS Dhoni called to court
However, on January 5, the current Chennai Super Kings player filed a criminal case against the duo in Ranchi. Dhoni alleged that their deal was revoked in 2021, yet Diwakar and Das continued to open cricket academies in his name, which resulted in a financial loss of Rs 15 crore.
Diwakar and Das moved to the Jharkhand High Court after challenging the cognisance taken against them by the court of a judicial magistrate in Ranchi. Therefore, the court has ordered Dhoni to appear and clarify his stance on the matter.
