List of Australian players in IPL 2025 mega auction

Always a franchise favorite, many Australian cricketers have deservedly garnered the attention of IPL teams due to the qualities they bring to the table. The latest examples are Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. On one hand, Pat Cummins transformed the Sunrisers Hyderabad, pulling the team out of a defensive approach and helping them reach the IPL 2024 finals. On the other hand, Mitchell Starc impressed with his bowling for KKR. Not to forget, Starc remains the most expensive player in IPL history. He made headlines in the 2024 auction when KKR secured his services for an eye-watering Rs 24.75 crore.

Other notable names include Travis Head for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Jake Fraser-McGurk for Delhi Capitals, who both delivered exceptional performances last IPL. In the past, Australian legend Shane Warne famously led the Rajasthan Royals to their first IPL trophy. Looking ahead now to the IPL 2025 auction, which is just around the corner, many Australian players are set to embrace the auction table once again. Out of the 1,574 players who registered for the auction, the BCCI has shortlisted 574 players for the two-day event, including 37 Australians.
