India cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma continues to train in Mumbai while the uncertainty over his departure to Australia continues. The rest of the Indian team have already reached Perth and are gearing up for the upcoming IND vs AUS Test series. While the Hitman is reportedly set to miss the 1st Test in Perth due to personal reasons, there is still no development on when he is expected to join the team.
Nothing confirmed on Rohit Sharma’s departure for IND vs AUS Tests
As per a Times of India report, Rohit Sharma was training at the Reliance Corporate Park in Mumbai on Wednesday and has been training consistently. The report claims that the Hitman wants to use his time in India to gear up for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and is using the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and RCP facilities for practice.
“There is no clarity yet on his (Rohit Sharma) departure. It all depends on how things unfold on the personal front. He is doing what any father would at this stage, which is to stay with his wife and family. But at the same time, he is ensuring to be well-tuned for the Test series and will be batting at every possible opportunity in Mumbai,” says a source told TOI.

Head coach Gautam Gambhir informed that Jasprit Bumrah will take over the reins as captain in Rohit’s absence. The team departed for Australia in two batches on November 10 and 11. They have already commenced practice in Perth, which includes a camp behind closed doors. The five-match Test series will begin from November 22.
Rohit Sharma managed to score just 91 runs in three matches in IND vs NZ series, scoring just one-half century in his last six innings.
