Pakistan is slated to host the ICC event having hosted an international event way back in 2008
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has been backed into a corner. Massive trouble continues to brew for the ICC as broadcasters slowly lose their patience over the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. The reason? India denies taking part in the tournament hosted by Pakistan. On the other hand, Pakistan is unwilling to budge and implement the hybrid model for the tournament.
Reports claim that the broadcasters are pushing the ICC to release the tournament schedule immediately. The schedule was slated to be released earlier this week but hasn’t been possible after India denied traveling to Pakistan to take part in the tournament.

Will India travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy?
As relations continue to become strained and a huge financial loss is set to be incurred, the broadcasters who have won the media rights are very displeased with the scene. The media rights were reportedly sold for a price of $3 billion. And the broadcasters believe that the majority of the revenue would be generated from the India vs Pakistan matches.
However, with the schedule not being released and huge financial losses set to be incurred, the broadcasters have been demanding that the ICC mediate between both countries and release the schedule. The release of the tournament schedule sans India will have huge ramifications on revenues earned.
The BCCI has been firm in their standpoint claiming the Government of India won’t allow the India Cricket Team to travel to Pakistan. On the other hand, the PCB too remains unmoved in the option to choose a hybrid model for the tournament. The ICC is slated to act as a peacemaker between BCCI and PCB so that both countries find a middle ground.
