Apart from David Warner, RCB also bought Rachin Ravindra and Shardul Thakur at R Ashwin’s mock IPL Auction.
After releasing Faf du Plessis, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have found a new replacement. Well, it is none other than IPL legend David Warner, who will open the batting with Virat Kohli at RCB, as per Ravichandran Ashwin’s IPL 2025 mock auction. Moreover, Virat Kohli will also return as skipper as RCB failed to get hold of KL Rahul at the IPL 2025 mock auction. To add to their bowling arsenal, Trent Boult will don the RCB jersey for a whopping Rs 13.5 crore.
David Warner to open with Kohli, Will Jacks back
It is hysterical to note that no other batter has scored more runs than David Warner against RCB. The southpaw has just loved batting against RCB, having scored 985 at an average and SR of 46.90 and 162.80, respectively. Now, Warner will don the RCB jersey, according to Ashwin’s mock IPL auction. What a lethal opening combo it would be between Warner and Kohli! At number three, RCB bought back Will Jacks at Rs 7.5 crore, which is a steal deal. Rajat Patidar, RCB’s Rs 11 crore retention is at four, followed by RCB’s second-costliest mock auction buy – Venkatesh Iyer. Iyer was snapped for a figure of Rs 12 crore.

Trent Boult at RCB!
Ashutosh Sharma and Jitesh Sharma, two PBKS releases follows while RCB also scooped in Deepak Chahar to oversee new bowling duties. Chahar would have a dream partner in Trent Boult, who would love to bowl (only with the new ball) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The only specialist spinner is R Sai Kishore for Rs 10 crore. At last is Yash Dayal, who was RCB’s only uncapped retention at Rs 5 crore.
The mock IPL auction proved to be an instance of ‘steal buys’ for RCB, something that we can’t associate the franchise with (in reality). They got Rachin Ravindra for just Rs 6 crore, while also acquiring Shardul Thakur for a mere RS 2 crore.
