“Saachi Sachdeva’s message, ‘Loyalty is very expensive,’ hints at feelings surrounding Nitish Rana’s release from KKR and his new start with Rajasthan Royals.”
In the IPL 2025 IPL auction, Nitish Rana was picked by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 4.20 crore. This was surprising because, for a lot of years, he was an important player for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He played very well for KKR and has been a part of their team since 2018. But this time, the batter is not been retained by KKR, nor has the franchise shown any interest in using the RTM for him, leaving fans frustrated.
Saachi’s message
Nitish Rana’s wife Saachi Sachdeva, shared a message on social media that caught people’s attention: “Loyalty is very expensive, not everyone can afford it.” This seems to be a hint about how they feel regarding Rana’s release from KKR despite his good performances. It might reflect on the emotional and financial changes they are experiencing.
A salary cut for Rana
Rana’s salary has been reduced a lot this time. While he was earning Rs 8 crore with KKR till 2024, in this auction, his salary dropped to Rs 4.20 crore. This means his earnings have been cut by almost half. Before this, he started with a salary of Rs 3.40 crore, which steadily increased because of his strong performance.
From KKR to Rajasthan
Over the years, Rana became an important part of Shahrukh Khan’s team, KKR. He contributed to their title win in IPL 2024. However, KKR decided not to retain him for the 2025 season. This shift has left many fans wondering how it will affect both KKR and Rana’s new team, Rajasthan Royals, in the coming IPL season.
New beginnings for Rana
Nitish Rana is starting a fresh chapter in his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals. Known not just as a talented player but also as Govinda’s niece Sanchi Marwah’s husband, Rana is set to showcase his skills in the 2025 season. It will be interesting to see what impact his presence will have on Rajasthan Royals and how it will shape his cricket career going forward.
