Sony PS5 Pro features

While the console is missing a built-in disc drive, Sony has introduced options for users to expand its functionality through additional accessories.

The Sony PS5 Pro introduces a series of hardware upgrades that improve both graphical performance and overall gaming experience. The console retains the same AMD Ryzen Zen 2 CPU as the standard PS5 but includes an advanced RDNA GPU, boosting the device’s compute power to 16.7 teraflops. With 16GB of GDDR6 memory and an additional 2GB of DDR5 RAM for background system tasks, the PS5 Pro offers gamers enhanced multitasking capabilities and better load management during gameplay.

PS5 Pro storage

Storage has also seen a significant upgrade. The PS5 Pro is equipped with a custom 2TB SSD, doubling the capacity of the original PS5, allowing players to store more high-resolution games and media without needing external storage.

PS5 Pro AI upscaling

Sony’s PS5 Pro is designed to deliver advanced ray-tracing technology and the debut of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) – a machine learning-based AI upscaling feature. With improved ray-tracing capabilities, players can expect more realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections, which add a layer of depth to games that rely heavily on graphical details. PSSR further enhances image quality by using AI to upscale visuals, bringing out fine details and delivering a crisper, clearer picture across supported titles.

Sony PS5 Pro’s improved hardware

The PS5 Pro’s hardware improvements allow it to render games at higher resolutions and maintain smoother frame rates, particularly in graphically demanding titles. This upgrade is for gamers who want to experience their favorite games at their highest quality settings, making full use of 4K displays.

Sony has confirmed that 55 titles will be optimized for the PS5 Pro at launch. This way it is taking advantage of the console’s enhanced hardware. These games have been updated to offer smoother frame rates and high-resolution rendering.

With its increased power and refined visuals, the PS5 Pro aims to deliver a more polished experience for titles designed with the Pro’s capabilities in mind.
