Vampire Survivors is all set to celebrate Halloween with the Castlevania DLC expansion.
Vampire Survivors is getting a Castlevania DLC expansion this Halloween. The Castlevania DLC will be released on October 31st on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS. Developer Poncle posted on X that the $3.99 expansion will have more than 10 hours of gameplay. It’s still not clear if there will be any vampires in the game, but one can only hope that its something the developer will surprise us with.
The “Ode to Castlevania” DLC will have 20 new characters, 40 weapons, and more than 30 music tracks. Finally, the realm of Dracula and the Belmonts with their whips is making its way to Vampire Survivors.
Vampire Survivors: Dive into the Exciting Castlevania DLC Update
The new expansion will introduce 20 new characters from the Castlevania universe. They will include the Belmonts, the Belnades, Jonathan, Charlotte, Shanoa, and Eric Lecarde, all of whom have been well loved by players. Additionally, gamers will receive 40 weapons including eight whips, elemental magic spells, and other magic weapons.
The new DLC will also have a new weapon selector, meaning players can decide the weapon they’d like to start the game with. Those who purchase the expansion will get to experience the largest map of Vampire Survivors in the new DLC. The region looks like one of the most iconic locations of Castlevania and should be a big part of transforming the gaming experience.
The Ode to Castlevania trailer was launched on YouTube, and players can’t keep calm after the announcement of the much-anticipated crossover. One YouTube user commented, “I am not the only one who lost their mind when this trailer dropped out of nowhere. This is the best thing that could happen to celebrate Vampire Survivor’s anniversary. The most Castlevania thing ever, and it’s not even a Castlevania game.”
While many players are still in awe that a large expansion like Castlevania is available only for $3.99, others can’t believe that the game that started as a parody of Castlevania is now featuring in a DLC with its most beloved characters. As one YouTube user said, “Vampire Survivors started out parodying Castlevania, and now it’s finally getting collab with the very franchise it once took for a muse. The mirror has finally shattered and we’ve gone full circle, lad.”
How Has Castlevania Inspired Vampire Survivors?
In 2021, Vampire Survivors was originally released with Castlevania-inspired graphics that the developer had purchased as art from an asset pack. Now, the game is expanding with a Konami collaboration, coming together with the original Castlevania developer. In the last three years, Vampire Survivors has consistently received both free and paid updates introducing new characters, stages, and achievements.
The Ode to Castlevania is one of the largest DLC of Vampire Survivors since its release. This Halloween will be a joyful and adventurous experience for the fans of Vampire Survivors.
